Snuggled In

I created this pastel painting of one of my favorite Dog Breeds, a Russell Terrier. I wanted to try the challenge of the shaggy blanket with the Russell snuggled into the blanket. I started out with a quick drawing with pastel pencils. Then I went to work on the shaggy blanket and dog to create the differing colors reflected by the soft light falling on the blanket and dog.
