Reflections on the Pond

This painting was from a photo reference taken on the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado. The reflection into the pond from of the sky and mountaintop was so surreal and quite stunning. I was able to capture the beauty of the mountains and the valley by using UART white paper with a red hard pastel/alcohol underpainting. I used various pastels from TerryLudwig, Unison, Schmincke, and Mount Vision.
