After the Bloom

I sat out in front of my house with my box of greens to do a color sketch of my cactus to choose my colors. I made 2 color sketches of different sizes before painting this on UArt 500. I had taken a photo which I also worked from along with my color sketches. I started out with a value sketch that I washed in with rubbing alcohol and a paint brush. I used mainly Terry Ludwig pastels, a few NuPastels, Unison, Schmincke, Sennelier, and one Henry Roche.
