Mother City
For this work, I am illustrating my life growing up in the city near refineries. The lamp on the ladies head is the torch that burns at night. The skin of her and the child are cracked to represent concrete and how children are a product of their environments. The image depicts how are cities as mothers are abusing our youth. I drew this after losing my brother to fentanyl last summer along with many friends before and after.
