The Wayfarer

I took this picture of my son a few years back and have always loved it. The size that he takes up in the painting allows the viewer to know his importance as the vast sky that fills the upper quadrant reminds us how small he is. I wanted this piece to allow its audience the chance to reminisce on simpler times- times of wander, curiosity, and exploration. I paid special attention to the grasses to create depth and chose a vivid color palette for a story book setting.
